Sian Kaan Lazy River Tour. (Great for kids and all ages) Tulum and Playa del Carmen pickup
This is one of the most tranquil experiences of the Riviera. We visit the out of the way archeological site of Muyil and enter the western entrance of the Sian Kaan Biosphere to visit the site and do an interpretive path through the mangrove ecosystem where the land meets the marshland. We also climb a watchtower to appreciate the views and end in the harbor to catch the boat to cross the lake through ancient canals built by the Maya over 500 years ago. We arrive at Xlapak or “Ancient Wall” built around 1100 A.D. a Mayan outpost, The views are absolutely stunning in this tour. From Xlapak we enter the slow flowing river of crystal clear cenote waters we will use life vest during this time to float down the river approximately 3/4 of a mile. Then walk back along the peer back to the boats. We end by having lunch in the town of Tulum at a locally renowned seafood restaurant called “El Capitan” really well rated on online reviews. After this, we return to the hotels.
We recommend that you bring comfortable clothes and shoes (flipflops, sandals ok, ), bathing suit, sun glasses, towel, camera, binoculars, sun protection (biodegradable, or clothes to aid with sun protection), some cash. Please note that there are no ATM machines in the area, nor do any of the vendors accept credit cards. The guides, drivers and waitress appreciate tips for their excellent service. Its also thanks to them that you will leave with many great memories! |
