Discover one of the highlights of the Yucatan peninsula with this adventure and a culture-filled trip to Ek’ Balam, the Rio Lagartos Biosphere, and the Pink Lakes.

Get to know first the ancient Mayan site of Ek’ Balam, or of the “Black Jaguar” and go back to the classic historical period of the Mayans through the explanations of your professional guide.

You will then head to the Rio Lagartos Biosphere to catch a boat and watch various species of birds like herons, fishing eagles, and the famous flamingos but also maybe some inhabitants of the mangrove such as crocodiles or raccoons.

You will arrive at the famous Las Coloradas or “Magenta Waters” these pink lakes colored by seaweed, plankton, and shrimps, and learn more about its use by the Mayans.

You will be able to take a traditional Mayan mud bath, rinse at a private beach and enjoy a great seafood meal at the Rio Lagartos restaurant.

Ekʼ Balam is a pre-Columbian archaeological site belonging to the Maya civilization of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. It is located in the present day Temozón municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico, and lies 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of Valladolid and 56 kilometres (35 mi) northeast of Chichen Itza.
